Driving Directions for Two Day Trips
Trout Creek Boat Launch:
From Bend: Travel about 2 miles north of the town of Madras on Hwy 97. You will see a Trout Creek directional sign on the right hand side of the road. Turn left, proceed on Clark Drive to the right hand turn onto Buckley lane. Proceed to Clemmens Drive and the town of Gateway. Once in Gateway you will see the BLM sign directing you to Trout Creek, (via Clemmens Dr., Cook lane, Coleman Road). The signage is very helpful. If you get concerned, there are many farmers/ranchers in the area can offer directions if you need them.
From Portland: Travel East on Hwy. 26 from Portland for about 100 miles. About a mile after the top of the long climb out of warm springs on Hwy 26 take a left onto Fir lane, continue to the end of Fir lane and take a left onto Barnes. Shortly after the turn onto Barnes you will take a right back onto Fir lane cross the railroad tracks and turn left onto Clark Drive, proceed on Clark Drive to the right hand turn onto Buckley lane proceed to Clemmens Drive and the town of Gateway. Once in Gateway you will see the BLM sign directing you to Trout Creek, (via Clemmens Dr., Cook lane, Coleman Road). The signage is very helpful.
